Open-world action RPG The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin drops on January 28, 2026, for PS5, PC, and mobile. Features a brand-new story starring Prince Tristan, sandbox mechanics (crafting, fishing), and up to 4-player co-op dungeon raids with classic characters like Meliodas and Merlin. Pre-registration is live.

The September State of Play from PlayStation just dropped a fresh batch of info on the upcoming RPG The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin. And honestly? It’s looking like a massive open-world playground that we’ll get to dive into with our squad in early 2026.

Saving the World, Crafting, and Fishing

Even though we got our first taste of gameplay back at Gamescom in August, this latest trailer goes way deeper. The campaign throws us into a completely original storyline (so no 1:1 manga or anime recycling here). We’ll be taking control of Prince Tristan the teenage son of Meliodas and Elizabeth.

With him, we’ll be exploring the massive map of Britannia. But don’t expect just mindless mob grinding. The devs packed in a surprising amount of sandbox mechanics. On top of the core combat, you’ll be gathering mats, crafting, placing items, catching creatures out in the wild, or just chilling and fishing. It’s a solid gameplay loop for open-world junkies.

Hitting the Dungeons with a Stacked Roster

Where Origin really starts to sound hype is the co-op. You can squad up with up to three other players to run dungeon raids. And while the main campaign revolves around Tristan, the co-op mode looks like it’s opening up a seriously meaty roster of playable characters spanning the entire history of the series.

The trailer already flexed fan favorites like King, Merlin, and even Tristan’s old man himself, Meliodas. Since every character is going to rock their own unique skills and playstyles, putting together a balanced team comp for tougher encounters is probably going to be key.

When Does It Drop?

The game officially drops on January 28, 2026, hitting PS5, PC, and mobile. If your fingers are already itching, pre-registration is live across all platforms on the official site, and you can still try to sign up for the closed beta. Until then, we’ll just have to hold ourselves over with the good old Grand Cross mobile game from 2020.
