Shani: You’ll find them lurking indoors; try to take them out before they spot you.
The Turret is a crude, stationary ARC defense unit commonly found inside buildings across the Rust Belt. It comes with a sweeping scanner and a gun capable of unleashing sustained barrages of bullets.
Behavior and threat
While it is usually more annoying than lethal, the Turret becomes dangerous the moment it detects you. In its aggressive state, it locks onto a Raider and fires a constant stream of bullets that deals moderate damage. If you break line of sight, it will continue firing at your last known position for a short time before it calms down.
How to spot and avoid it
The scanner emits a visible light sweep, so attentive Raiders can often notice it early and avoid stepping into its firing lane. If you spot the scan in time, you can reposition and bypass the Turret without taking damage.
Weakness and how to destroy it
The Turret has no armor plating and can be destroyed quickly. A short burst from any ammo type is usually enough, as long as you land your shots before it pins you down.
Tips
- Peek quickly from cover, fire a short burst, then duck back if needed.
- Keep your distance whenever possible, since it is easier to manage outside tight indoor angles.
