Shani: Their front plating is nearly impenetrable. You’ll need to bring more firepower if you hope to stand a chance.

Covered in thick plating, the Bastion is basically a fortress on legs. It may be slow, but it completely controls its patrol route with heavy gatling-gun fire and can shred anything that crosses its line.

Based on Raider observations, the Bastion is believed to be deployed in areas where ARC detects resource deposits worth defending at all costs.

Attack pattern

The Bastion emits a loud screech before attacking, then unloads its gatling gun for about 3 seconds at the last seen position of any Raider it has spotted.

Weak points and how to kill it fast

Bastions have unarmored yellow leg joints and a yellow rear canister that take direct damage. Focusing these spots is the quickest way to destroy it.

Destroying the rear canister or any leg joint will stun the Bastion briefly. That stun window is the best time to commit damage safely.

When the rear canister is destroyed, its rear plating peels back and reveals a larger barrel-like internal part. Shooting this exposed component deals major damage and can finish the fight quickly.

Best tools and explosives

Blaze Grenades are extremely effective, and Snap Blast Grenades can also help. A well placed Deadline near the rear canister can instantly defeat a Bastion.

How to avoid its attacks

  • Move behind solid cover as soon as it is alerted.
  • Stay out of its line of sight during the engagement.
  • Hide inside buildings or use thick foliage to break visual contact.

Bastions can be found on all maps, usually in wide open areas. Not all locations are listed yet and these are based on Raider testimonies.
