The Bombardier is one of ARC’s most feared long range enforcers. Raiders argue about why ARC deploys it and what its true mission is, but nobody debates the outcome. It is a lethal machine that has put countless people in the infirmary.
Combat role and behavior
The Bombardier fights like a mobile artillery platform.
It fires mortar rounds at a target until they die or manage to get into cover, and it relies on Spotter drones to mark a Raider’s exact position for precision targeting.
It does not simply lob shells at where you were.
It can adjust the mortar trajectory to lead your movement and it can even thread shots through tight openings such as window slits when it has a clean mark.
To prevent Raiders from hiding directly under it or using its body as a safe shield, the Bombardier also emits close range pulses similar to a Leaper style shock, pushing targets away from hugging it as cover.
Weak points and how to disable it
Bombardiers have several clear weak spots.
Look for yellow kneecaps on all leg joints and a yellow rear cylinder.
- Shooting the kneecaps reduces its mobility and exposes inner unarmored sections, letting you deal increased damage.
- Destroying the rear cylinder can disable it quickly and is often the fastest way to end the fight.
How to fight it effectively
The Bombardier is usually accompanied by two Spotters that mark you for precise mortar hits.
Removing the Spotters can make the Bombardier less accurate and more disoriented, but remember that both Spotters will respawn after being destroyed.
A key opening happens immediately after it fires artillery.
Right after a mortar volley is one of the safest windows to peek and commit damage.
Explosives can also delete it fast.
A well placed Deadline mine near its canister can destroy it with a single mine if positioned correctly.
